In the Online Magazine of SIA, Foundation Innovation Alliance (SIA - Stichting Innovatie Alliantie)  the funding organization of research in professional universities (hogescholen), a project is described concerning the Smart Replica Project of Studio Maaike Roozenburg, Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, TU-Delft  and the AR Lab of the KABK. Het Nieuwe Instituut and The Netherlands Study Centre for Technology Trends (STT) are organizing the joint Symposium Art and Innovation: The Future of Interdisciplinarity on 19 March in Rotterdam. For STT, the symposium marks the end of a foresight study in which new relations between art, science and technology were explored. Het Nieuwe Instituut will adopt the findings of these explorations, and will apply them in the development of their practice-based researches. Yolande Kolstee will speak about the future of Technology and Art.

The annual seminar Mens voor de Lens organised by the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences’ Research Department Digital Life is scheduled for Thursday 20 February 2014 from 13.30 hrs. Several lectures will be given alongside live demo’s; the AR Lab will present some of its projects. While video monitoring systems are the main topic of discussion, special emphasis is put on intelligent camera’s in consumer products such as smartphones, AR headsets like Google Glass and cars.
