Smart Replicas graduate

Design for Interaction Master student, Lotte de Reus, graduated from the TU-Delft in March 2013 with her contribution to the Smart Replicas project. Her aim was to liven up / augment the experience of looking at pottery and she did that by creating a responsive 3D audio tour. As Lotte summarises:

“A spatial ambient soundscape (an audio landscape) is presented to the visitor as soon as they pick up an object. The soundscape is non-visual context representation of the object without adding a visual layer that would otherwise divert attention from the artefact.”

To get an idea of what that might like look, watch the video where a visitor encounters the soundscape (Dutch only).
