AR Lab nominated for RAAK-Pro award 2013

We are very proud to announce that we are nominated for a RAAK-Pro award 2013 for our highly collaborative (Studio Maaike Roozenburg, TU-Delft, KABK students from the Graphic Design department, Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen) Smart Replicas project! With this project, our aim is to reuse historical objects by 3D-printing them and enriching them with innovative techniques such as AR. KABK Students, all the while, learn how to adopt new techniques to further their artistic design research.

Human Factors in Augmented Reality Environments

In this book Yolande Kolstee wrote chapter 11: “Interactive AR Installation: Lessons Learned in the Field of Art, Design and Cultural Heritage.” Advances in hardware and networking have made possible a wide use of augmented reality (AR) technologies. However, simply putting those hardware and technologies together does not make a ‘good’ system for end users to use. New design principles and evaluation methods specific to this emerging area are urgently needed to keep up with the advance in technologies.
